Tile, Grout Cleaning, and Sealing
Tile and grout surfaces are very porous and from time to time need to be professionally cleaned due to the fact that regular mopping just can't remove the small contaminants in the grout. Every tile and grout job is different, so our experienced technicians will examine your tile to determine the right method to use for the best results.
To start the cleaning process we will pre-spray the tile and grout with a degreaser/deep cleaning solution to begin breaking down contaminants, which is then worked in with a brush. Next, using our state of the art surface cleaner with high pressure, high water temperature and powerful suction, your tile is thoroughly cleaned, disinfected, and dried by extraction.
Finally, we will apply a clear sealant to the tile and grout to create an invisible layer of protection that will keep foreign contaminants from penetrating the grout or tile.
How Long Will It Last?
Many times we are asked how often tile should be cleaned and sealed, but there is not just one answer. There are many factors to consider. Our sealer should typically last 2 to 5 years; however we do not necessarily recommend waiting that long. Here’s why…the longevity of the sealer completely depends on the amount of wear and tear the surface receives. If your tile and grout is in a kitchen that is used daily by many family members and pets, then you will need to clean and seal again in 1 to 2 years. If it is in a guest bathroom that is only used when visitors come to stay once or twice a year, then you can probably make it 3 to 5 years.
Don't Take a Chance
All things considered, be sure you don't wait until there are visible signs of dirt in your grout, such as coffee or juice stains. Just like other surfaces, unsealed grout can become permanently stained as liquid penetrates the grout. Once this happens we may only be able to lighten it by cleaning the surface, but not get the stain completely out because it has gone too deep. This is why sealer is so important.
